Demostration of Windows 8 Lots of great stuff going on with Windows 7 installs Touch First, Mouse Second – Wow, that is going to be interesting Demo of a netbook from two years ago running Windows 8 using only 380mb of RAM, nice. Steven even said it was his daily use machine for a year, Microsoft needs to buy him a nicer machine. Windows 8 Start still feels like Windows Mobile and Windows Media Center had a child We decided every time they said “SUPER”, we are drinking They are very nervous and the...

Ahhh, the beauty of having Windows Live Writer on the mac again, I love it. So when I bought this machine, I said I would never run Boot Camp, Parallels, or Fusion on it because it only has 2GB of ram that is not upgradeable and who can run a VM with under a 1GB ram dedicated? Well the answer is Windows 7 Starter Edition. How did I come to that conclusion, trial and error. We are prepping for a big event at TechEd 2011 (the announcement will be coming soon) and I needed Windows Live Writer on my...

Well I have been using WVPC for Windows 7 RTM for about a week now and there are a few things I like and a few things I don’t. First off, why at the end of 2009 do we still not have a “multiple monitor” story that doesn’t require me to put quotations around the words. I have been converting my current client’s development environment to a VPC instead of taking over my main machine as we did to get the project kicked off. I decided to go with Windows Virtual PC now that it has RTMed, but quite a bit has changed. Once I had Windows 7 installed and VS 2008 configured, I started looking for a multiple monitor solution for VPCs. In the past, I had just lived with the limitation of running virtual and not getting the benefit of dual monitors. This time I wanted something...

In the spirit of most Microsoft fan boys, I installed Windows 7 Beta on one of my machines as the primary OS and am having an excellent experience. No, it is not my TouchSmart (even though that would be awesome), but my HP Mini Netbook. As most have stated, this OS is very stable (except Lou and his BSOD) and am really looking forward to the test drive. I tried reporting some bugs I saw in the basics, but didn’t have any luck with the new Send Feedback feature. Hopefully it is due to everyone submitting...
