Here is the list of Zone ID’s for the Blank WebPart Page (BlankWebPartPage.aspx") that is part of the Publishing Portal with MOSS 2007: TitleBar Header TopLeftRow TopRightRow CenterLeftColumn CenterColumn CenterRightColumn Footer RightColumn I was in need of these and wasn’t able to find them with a simple search on Google so I wanted to share them with you. To get a list of WebPartZone objects for a page that a webpart lives on can be done with the following code: foreach (WebPartZone zone in this.WebPartManager.Zones)...

In a bold move, Microsoft decided to rename SharePoint one more time to SharePoint 2010 for the next version. Check out these two articles on the change, but it looks like the detachment from Office does not mean it will be less feature rich with the integration with Office, much like portals weren’t removed when it went from SPS to MOSS. I am excited to see the name change, but we really need a new acronym as trendy as MOSS was. MSP, SPX, not sure. No name has been released for WSS, but my bet is...

The event was a lot of fun. The audience was prepared with tons of questions and the presenters had some great topics. Clint Edmonson mentioned the idea of doing a MOSS Camp in Kansas City, and I think we will definitely look into it after Coders 4 Charities. Technorati Tags: MOSS Camp,St. Louis,SharePoint...

Just wanted to chime in a to say Jerod and I are on the road, had to stop to get some gas, Taco Bell, and surf the web with my bluetooth and MacBook. I love technology. We will be in St. Louis in about 2 hours. Technorati Tags: MOSS Camp,Driving,Taco Bell...

Looks like I will have the pleasure of speaking at the St. Louis MOSS Camp in April. The event looks awesome, and I wish we could draw a large enough crowd of speakers and attendees in Kansas City, but I don't think we are there yet. I will hopefully be presenting on WCM, but I left to options open to the organizers. If you are in the area, I would highly suggest this event. No the world is not ending, well I don't know if it is or isn't, but John and myself switched to MacBook Pros from our Toshibas. These machines are amazing. I have never been so excited to work with Vista. Don't worry, I am not a switcher. While I downloaded Vista Business from MSDN, I used OS X Leopard and I had the same reaction that I did with my original Apple PowerBook, "What can I do?" I was literally bored on a computer and that takes a lot. Those awesome applications they talk about on the...

I love SharePoint and after the book was published and I started reading the competitive books, I love it even more.. With that, I am going to start focusing this blog on SharePoint related data, and of course Geekswithblogs news as well. With that, I definitely want to stick to the development side of the house and wanted to know what you would like to see extending in SharePoint 2007? More Blogs and Wiki features than the community is already offering? Tutorials on Features, Web Parts, etc? Let...

March 2-6, 2008, I should be in Seattle at the Microsoft Office SharePoint Conference 2008 event. I don't know if they heard me when I mentioned the php/mySql driven site (probably not), but now the site is actually a SharePoint 2007 site. Hopefully more information will come out about the event, but you can register to get more information here. Technorati tags: SharePoint, MOSS, SharePoint Conference, Conference, Seattle...

Wrox, publisher of the upcoming Professional SharePoint 2007 Development book John and I worked on, has published an excerpt from the book covering Creating Content Type Metadata for SharePoint 2007 Document Management Solutions. I am very excited to see this book hit the shelves. It has been in the works (from conversation all the way up to printing) since TechEd 2006 Boston when John and I started talking to Jim Minatel about the title.
